On Sunday we went to Leuven with Joaquin and Malviina and a bit later Grace, Pinn and Lea also joined us. We wanted to do something together to end our winterbreak, but at the same time we could also celebrate Joq's birthday, which was this Wednesday. Joq is one of the only latin exchange students who actually spends time with us too, other latin people hang out with each other most of the time. Thus yay, I do have a friend from South-America!
To be honest we didn't really have much of a plan of what to do and where to go, so we just wandeled around and went shopping and went for a lunch in a cheap Italian place. Then we came up with a bright idea of going bowling. Our lovely friend google told us, that the alley is just half a km away from us, when we got there, the place really looked more like a construction site than bowling. A wooden path that was placed onto a mudpuddle is what led us to the door and the roof of this part was a big black plastic bag. Interiour was a bit better tho and there was even another group playing there, so we weren't quite alone.
Again, nice time with awesome people, what more could you ask for? Lea happenede to have a cake in her bag, and a knife...don't ask me. So we cut up the cake and sang a birthday song, haha the worker was looking at us as if we were a bunch of weirdos.
After bowling we walked back to the station and also happened to bump into Guillmore (this is not his real name and I have no idea how to pronounce or spell his real name, even though he has told me about million and one times), but yea, he's leaving for Canada in the end of January and hopefully we will still see him before he leaves at an upcoming party.
In the evening I was mentally preparing myself for the upcoming schoolweek, I had basically a month long holiday, but now the fun is over and it's time to go back to school. But in just over a month we're going to Paris with YFU! And right before that I'm turning 18, as weird as it sounds to myself...
Nothing too interesting happened during the weekdays, I'm back in going to school routine so there's not that much to write about. On Wednesday there was the three king day though and if in Estonia it only marks the date that now you can take out your Christmas tree, then here it's a bit different. First of all, we still have the tree in our room, and secondly in the stores they sell a cake which is called kingcake. A bean of some sort is hidden somewhere in this cake and the person who finds the bean will be crowned king/queen for a day. Most of the cakes also come with a ready-made crown-shaped golden cardboard cut-out. When we ate the cake, then eventually I happened to find the bean, which in our cake was actually a miniature Anna from Frozen.
On Saturday we all decided to suprise Joaquin a little bit. Debi, Malviina, Grace, Pinn, Lea and I all drove to Geel to suprise him for his birthday. At first when we showed up to his door and he saw us, he just stood there for half a minute, he was just so suprised that he couldn't do anything :D But it was another very awesome day, at first we had a little house tour, it was huuuge and really cool, and the garden was also very big. After that we played just dance and took photos and played with his little siblings, who were so cute. In the beginning they were very shy but eventually they were just climbing on us and when it was time to leave, they all said nooo, no yet!!! :D Oh and before we left we also ate pizza and Joq's mum had made different types of mousses for dessert, which were all delicious. (His mum was in on our suprise, otherwise it just wouldn't have worked out :D)
